For those unfamiliar with the awards, the Trace Awards & Summit—now simply referred to as the Trace Awards—was launched by Trace Group to mark the 20th anniversary of its influential music television channel, Trace TV. The awards aim to spotlight and honor exceptional achievements in African music and culture on a global scale. Broadcast live across 180 countries on Trace TV and Trace Africa, the first edition of the awards took place in Kigali, Rwanda, in October 2023, setting the stage for what has now become an annual tradition.

This year’s ceremony was hosted by none other than D’Banj, the Nigerian music icon and co-founder of Mo’Hits Records.
